What is a skin tag?

Skin tags are small harmless benign growths that hang off the skin. These are very common and vary in size and colour. Skin tags are most likely found on the neck, armpits, groin, and face. They tend to develop in areas where the skin is constantly rubbed by garments or jewellery. Skin tags can be annoying and are often caught on clothing or need to be avoided when shaving. 

These can be safely removed by cauterisation. Heat is applied to the base of the tag, cauterising it and removing the tag altogether. A scab will form after treatment to protect the area. This can be sore for a few days afterward.

 
Skin tags are removed permanently and won't require any further treatment.
